The Shubb C7 Partial Capo is designed to skip the 6th string and cover strings 5-4-3 or 2-3-4. The design features a crook in the frame that allows the capo to clearly skip the outside string without buzzing, while covering the next three strings. The capo's pad has been altered to line up with this new geometry.

The Shubb C7 partial capo provides a special effect that many creative guitarists find interesting. Its most popular use is to apply the capo at the 2nd fret, from the bass side, skipping the 6th string and covering 5-4-3. This emulates DADGAD tuning, but a full step higher. Another use is to apply the C7 at the 2nd fret, from the treble side, skipping the 1st string and covering 2-3-4 to form an A chord.
