Logjam Music was founded in 2008 by veteran guitarist, Howard Bragen. Howard, aka "The Logfather" designed the first Logarhythm mk1 with the idea of creating a simple accompaniment instrument to amplify his tapping foot. Through association with other players, the instruments developed to the range we make today ... and we are proud to say that they are all still completely handmade in England.
Our "Log" units are what we call "stompers". They are not guitar effects pedals (stomp boxes) but instruments in their own right. They are designed to create a beat behind what you're playing and can be used very simply by tapping your feet 2 ,3 or 4 times per bar etc or by using the instrument selectively to create dynamic changes and accents. When plugged into a PA or bass amp they will create the sound of a kick drum or, in the case of our new "Rattlebox", a snare/side stick.
This is the brand new, just launched, Black Mamba Special Edition Prolog.
Here at Logjam we saw an opportunity to create an aesthetically appealing special edition which can also help raise awareness of, and create appreciation for, wildlife (namely here the Black Mamba snake).
The Black Mamba is the longest indigenous African snake and is a creature of beauty. These Black Mamba Prologs have our special Mamba logo etched onto the foot plate of the stomper - following the ergonomic curve of the unit. The logo, as well as being great to look at, is incredibly tactile to touch.
The Logjam Prolog has become the standard to beat so to speak. It's incredibly low stomping angle, high output and integral board have made it the choice of professional players the world over. The heel board facilitates back-beats with your heel…dial in a little mid and use a hard shoe and you can get an effect akin to kick drum (pedal drum) and side-stick.
Logjam stompers aren't digital sample players. They are truly responsive analog instruments.
