The legendary analog DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 is back, with over 40 years of history and experience behind it. First conceived by David Oreste Defrancesco (DOD’s namesake) in the ’70’s as a way to get distortion and boost without any of the downsides that came with some of the fuzzes of the era. The DOD 250 captures all of the classic tone and wild heart of the original, but in no way tames its performance.
The DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 (2013) uses the vintage correct LM741 OpAmp, just like back in the ’70’s. Modern appointments like a tough, light, pedalboard friendly aluminum chassis, standard power input jack, true bypass, LED indicator, and metallic yellow flake finish makes the 250 at home on any pedalboard.
The DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 has Gain and Level controls, like its predecessors. Gain controls the amount of distortion, from just a touch of grit to all-out grind. Level dials in some subtle body for "always on" performance or huge amounts of boost for boosting solos above a dense stage mix. With the Gain all the way down, crank up the Level to boost your sound and cut through during your solos.
The DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 doesn’t hold back, with loads of output and Gain and Level controls that allow users to overdrive their amp or as a stand-alone distortion.
